Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 14, 2025
1. Introduction
Uno Allergy is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information in our iOS mobile app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information to operate the app:
- Firebase Authentication Info: If you choose to sign in, we collect your email address through Firebase Authentication. Anonymous sign-in is also supported; in that case, no personal identifying information is collected.
- User Preferences: If signed in, we store your saved allergen filters and custom product lists securely in our backend database, which uses MongoDB. This data is tied to your Firebase user ID.
- Local Storage: For anonymous users, data is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to it.
- Advertising Data: If you consent to personalized ads, Google AdMob may collect device information, advertising identifiers, and usage data to provide relevant advertisements.
- Device Information: We may collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and optimization purposes.
We do not collect your name, address, location, or any other personal information beyond what is stated above.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Allow you to log in and manage your allergen filters and saved products.
- Store your preferences for a personalized experience.
- Deliver advertisements within the app, which may be personalized based on your consent choices.
- Improve app performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations.
4. Advertising
Uno Allergy includes Google AdMob for advertising:
- Ad Personalization: Following Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, we request your permission before allowing personalized advertising. You can choose between personalized ads (which may be based on your interests and app usage) or non-personalized ads.
- Ad Provider: Google AdMob serves advertisements in our app and may collect data to provide these services. You can learn more about Google's privacy practices at Google's Privacy Policy.
- Advertising ID: If you consent to personalized ads, your device's advertising identifier may be used by AdMob. You can reset this identifier or opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.
- User Messaging Platform (UMP): We use Google's User Messaging Platform to manage consent for personalized advertising in compliance with relevant regulations.
You can change your advertising preferences at any time through the app settings or by adjusting your device's privacy settings.
5. Data Sharing
We share limited data with third-party service providers:
- Firebase: For user authentication. You can read Firebase's privacy practices here.
- Google AdMob: For serving advertisements within the app. If you consent to personalized ads, AdMob may receive your advertising ID and limited device information.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. The backend data for user preferences is stored securely on our own server using MongoDB.
6. Anonymous Users
If you use the app anonymously:
- We generate a temporary anonymous ID via Firebase to maintain secure access.
- No user preference data is stored on our servers.
- Your preferences remain on your device unless you sign in.
- You will still be asked for advertising consent preferences per Apple's requirements, but no personally identifiable information will be associated with your advertising experience.
7. App Tracking Transparency
In accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework:
- We will request your permission through Apple's standard permission request process before tracking your activity across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
- You can change your tracking preferences at any time through your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Tracking).
- If you decline permission, we will respect your choice and only serve non-personalized ads.
- Even if you opt out of tracking, you will still see advertisements, but they will not be tailored to your interests.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
- User data is stored for as long as you maintain an active account with Uno Allergy.
- You can modify or delete your saved preferences and lists at any time through the app interface.
- If you wish to delete your entire account and associated data, you can do so through the app settings or by contacting us at info@unoallergy.com.
- Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove all your personal data from our systems within 30 days.
- Note that deletion of your account does not automatically reset or delete your advertising preferences with Google AdMob. You may need to reset your advertising ID separately through your device settings.
9. Children's Privacy
Uno Allergy is not directed at children under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe we might have information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at info@unoallergy.com.
